How Do Fire Blankets work?
The Cannon Fire blanket is 1.8 x 1.2 meters. It is a premium fire blanket due to its construction housing a unique 3-ply material. With two layers of woven glass fibre fabric with an inner layer of fire-retardant film and it is this construction that is at the forefront of the fire blankets unblemished safety record. It is a longstanding performance record unrivalled in the industry.
The fire blanket is flexible, with good draping qualities, to eliminate oxygen from the burning oil and to allow the oil to cool gradually to below its self-ignition temperature.
It should not reignite when the blanket is removed after 17 minutes.
Fire Blanket Product Description
All of our extinguishers are also supplied with a Fire Blanket. The included fire blanket is 1.8m x 1.2m and delivers essential performance requirement in that they must extinguish a cooking oil fire (as detailed in BS EN 1869:1997).
Note: The fire blankets are also supplied with Glow-in-the-Dark sign, so it can always be seen/found. The sign also highlights what types of fires it is safe to use on and the fire where it isn’t safe.
