Defence Overview
The defence industry is a large part of the industrial sector. Highly innovative and centred on high-end engineering and technologies. Its cutting-edge research has created important knock-on effects in other sectors such as electronics, space, and civil aviation.
We can help protect Flight Simulators, Server rooms, Archive rooms and more.
Flight Simulators
Across the defence sector, there are a number of areas that we can help keep protected from fire. For example, Flight simulators require large computers to run the simulation and train pilots. These computers are running specialist software and the computer uses an extraordinary amount of energy. The result of this is the internal components of the computer become very hot and as they do, they become a fire hazard. In this case, we would install either an Inert or synthetic fire suppression system.
Inert Gas
Inert gas systems extinguish a fire by lowering Oxygen levels (which are typically around the 21% mark) within a protected area, but within ‘safe for life support’ limitations.
Server / Archive Rooms
Cannon Fire Protection can provide inert systems to environments that need protecting in an environment where covering the assets in water or other flame suppression liquid is not possible, as it would cause further damage.
Likewise, traditional data stored in filing cabinets would be destroyed too, however, paper records would act as a fuel for the fire. In both of these instances, we would install and supply either an inert or synthetic system. As these are not water-based, they would ensure that the data (digital/traditional) would not be destroyed in the fire suppression process.
Inert Gas
Inert gas systems extinguish a fire by lowering Oxygen levels (which are typically around the 21% mark) within a protected area, but within ‘safe for life support’ limitations.
Synthetic Gas
These agents are commonly referred to as ‘Clean Agents’ as they leave no residue or oily deposits, they can be removed by ventilation of the affected space and are non-conductive. This makes them highly desirable in IT rooms and precious document vaults.
