Retail Overview

There are many fire hazards and risks in a typical retail environment. When you’re consulting with a professional fire protection company to ensure your space is up to code. Electrical equipment, Lighting, sound systems, cash registers, refrigeration, and other aspects of your retail store require electrical wiring. Any malfunctions in these areas could cause a fire.

Flammable products, such as barbecuing supplies and pesticides to gardening chemicals, you probably sell many different flammable products. 

Vandals, can’t control the behaviour of customers who enter your retail store. Whether on purpose or by accident, someone could set your merchandise on fire, such as in the other example listed above.

Store Rooms

Cannon Fire can provide inert gas to protect a retailer’s stock/contents in the event of a fire by putting it out and stopping it from spreading further. There are a number of factors to consider, is stored content flammable (paper, fabrics & wood).

Inert Gas
Inert gas systems extinguish a fire by lowering Oxygen levels (which are typically around the 21% mark) within a protected area, but within ‘safe for life support’ limitations.

Synthetic System
These agents are commonly referred to as ‘Clean Agents’ as they leave no residue or oily deposits, they can be removed by ventilation of the affected space and are non-conductive. This makes them highly desirable in IT rooms and precious document vaults.

Supermarket Cafes/Kitchens

Supermarket cafes often require fixed suppression to be placed above cooking equipment. In this case, we would supply and fit Ansul R-102 systems. Under
 the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. This requires all establishments to conduct and document their own FRA (Fire risk assessment). Cannon supply Ansul R-102 equipment which keeps kitchens across the UK safe.
