Utilities Overview
The sector is made up of the production of utilities such as gas and power. The sector also contains companies such as electric, gas and water firms and integrated providers.
Typically, we install to Wind turbines, telephone exchanges, Mobile towers & more.

Wind Turbines
Potential ignition sources are mainly inside the converters /storage where there is fast moving machinery (generators, gearboxes e.t.c) which creates heat and combustible oil and solid material in the turbine.
Even with the incredible engineering and safety measures in place, a fire can ignite and develop, leading to the possible complete destruction of the turbine. Another hazardous element of wind turbines is the unit’s transformers and battery, we protect transformers with inert gas, synthetic gas or fire trace system.
Inert Gas
Inert gas systems extinguish a fire by lowering Oxygen levels (which are typically around the 21% mark) within a protected area, but within ‘safe for life support’ limitations.
Synthetic System
These agents are commonly referred to as ‘Clean Agents’ as they leave no residue or oily deposits, they can be removed by ventilation of the affected space and are non-conductive. This makes them highly desirable in IT rooms and precious document vaults.
Telephone Exchanges
A fire at any of the five thousand plus telephone exchanges in the UK not only poses a risk to human life but means potentially expensive telephone and internet disconnection for companies and loss of business for the service provider.
Telephone exchanges being at particular risk due to the heat of computer equipment being operated nearby and the fact that many cable management solutions in these facilities are outdated. A chewed cable can easily impact the effectiveness of the wiring and, at worst, generate electrical short circuits and sparks that can ignite.Typically we would install an inert or synthetic gas system.
